A partnership made for charitable purposes is one the most sincere and precious relationship of all. Both institutions aim to be part of the change and help the less fortunate beings. This truly evident with the partnership between Payatas Orione Foundation, Inc. (PAOFI) and the Korean friends from Boeun Parish, Diocese of Cheongju, South Korea.

Last November 12, PAOFI was once again visited by our Korean Friends from Boeun Parish.
There were 26 participants for the Sponsorship 2019 event headed by their Parish Priest, Fr.
Andrew Lee.

A short welcoming program started with the offering of a local necklace made from small shells to all the visitors followed by the opening prayer and welcome message from Fr. Seo Young Tae, FDP, PAOFI Executive Director. Selected students from the Scholarship Program showcased a traditional folkdance number called “Tinikling” while the selected children from Nazareno Feeding Program performed an energetic modern dance presentation. Both performances greatly amazed the Korean visitors. At the end of the program, Fr. Andrew Lee also shared an inspiring message to everyone.

After the welcoming program, the Korean visitors spent 2 more days in Payatas to do some
outreach program to the community. The participants were divided into groups, each were
accompanied by one PAOFI Staff. They went to 7 PAOFI Feeding Centers where they spent their
time assisting in the activities and also playing with the kids and even helping them eat. The joy
in the faces of the visitors and the children were greatly evident in this activity.

Aside from the Feeding Centers, they also visited the houses of the poor families within the
area. They witnessed the common struggle in the everyday life of a resident living in Payatas.
The generous Korean Visitors offered them prayers and gave them rice and grocery items to
somehow help ease their current situation. Burst of emotions filled the atmosphere as the
families expresses their gratitude to the Korean Visitors. It is one of those priceless moments of realizing that you fulfilled your goal of serving the less fortunate people.

This has been the second time that the PAOFI was visited by the Koreans from Boeun Parish,
Diocese of Cheongju. Their benevolent acts were a great aid to a lot of beneficiaries of PAOFI.
They helped in feeding hungry stomachs and in shining light to the hopeless hearts of the poor.
This Sponsorship event shows how compassion can transform the lives of many penniless
individuals.

PAOFI is looking forward to more years of partnership with the kind-hearted Korean friends
from the Boeun Parish. Special thanks to Teachers Marino, Simon and Stefano and all the
parishioners of Boeun Parish for organizing this Sponsorship 2019 event for Payatas Orione
