Food Packs Distribution in 2021

Despite the challenges of operating in a skeletal workforce, PAOFI still managed to call for donations for the Feeding Program beneficiaries and distribute it in the form of food packs. It includes rice, canned goods, instant noodles, and other ready to eat foods. These were handed out to the affected families not only the beneficiaries of PAOFI but also to selected families in Payatas who were also badly affected because of the pandemic.

Food packs were given to our nine (9) Feeding Centers with about 350 feeding beneficiaries as an alternative to the usual daily feeding program. These were being distributed to their families twice a month.

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, we were forced to stop the distribution and admission for Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Foods (RUTF). We were able to start again after a few months and now we are back to the weekly distribution of RUTF to the beneficiaries. Currently, we have about 50 beneficiaries under the RUTF program. Even though we are still in the middle of a pandemic, we are still strictly monitoring the kids’ nutritional status once every two weeks in their respective centers.

Last December 2021, we were not able to provide Christmas parties for the children which they have always been looking forward to. On the other hand, we were still able to provide Noche Buena packages and gifts to the RUTF and Feeding program beneficiaries to help them celebrate the holiday seasons.

Of course, during distribution and monitoring, safety protocols and guidelines were strictly implemented and observed.
